《初音未来歌姬计划X》是初音未来的8周年纪念作品。本作的音乐主要分为中性，可爱，孤傲，美艳，混沌这5大类，选择歌曲也是按照这5大类来选择。 本作是世嘉对“舞台形式”的首次尝试，首次将PV彻底改造成舞台，玩家可以根据自己的喜好随意更换歌唱的舞台，这是之前的作品所不能做到的。同时也因为舞台形式导致歌曲PV的故事性大大降低，不像前一作F 2nd那样PV整个可能就是一整个故事。

歌曲的数量也是整个系列里最少的，如果算上DLC，本作就力压其他作品绝对坐稳了歌曲数量最少的宝座。歌曲一共30首，不包括教学曲的Ievan Polkka。而且其他歌手的存在感大为降低，除了初音未来以外其他歌手的专属歌曲每个人只有一首。 Project DIVA X is driven forward though a narrative in which centers on Miku and her friends undertaking various requests as they explore the five Clouds that make up their world.
